Catching Up: Part II – Mountain Therapy

I’ve been sleeping in a tent for the last eight or nine days. Now staying at a friend’s house in Phoenix. To recap some of my experiences …

Several days ago, I completed a 1,000-ft ascent to the summit of Ryan Mountain (5,400ft) in Joshua Tree National Park. This was my first rigorous workout since my heart surgery. Heart and breathing checked out just fine. Plus I demonstrated my didgeridoo more than ten times going up and down. I joked I was getting twice the workout they were. Met a woman at the top who had been in a wheelchair. We clinked our plastic water bottles in celebration.
